Katarina Jurriaans
Katarina Jurriaans is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and the founder of Heart of Oak Psychotherapy, where she supports teens, young adults, adults, and couples across Ontario. She works with anxiety, ADHD, trauma, eating disorders, relationship conflict, burnout, moral injury, and the emotional strain experienced by first responders and healthcare workers. Known for her warm, real, and human approach, Katarina brings a mix of evidence-based therapies—including CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT, somatic and nervous-system-based practices, and the Gottman Method—to create a space that is safe, grounded, and deeply validating. Whether clients are processing trauma, rebuilding self-worth, navigating life transitions, or working through long-standing relationship patterns, she meets each person with compassion, humour, and authenticity.
Katarina specializes in trauma-informed care, couples therapy, and supporting individuals who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in survival mode. She helps couples break out of long-term cycles of resentment, emotional distance, and miscommunication, and she provides specialized support for first responders and healthcare workers facing burnout, compassion fatigue, and moral injury. Her work is attachment-focused and rooted in understanding the nervous system, ensuring that healing is not only meaningful but sustainable. Whether meeting virtually throughout Ontario or in person in Oakville, Katarina’s goal is to help clients feel grounded, understood, and empowered to create real, lasting change in their lives and relationships.
